Black and Vanilla Modern Medley Card

This is my favorite Stamp night project that I designed for June!  I am just in love with everything about this card!

Stamp Sets:
  • Happy Day
  • Tape It
Colors:
  • Crumb Cake
  • Basic Black
  • Very Vanilla
Tools / Extras:
  • Modern Medley designer series paper
  • Tea Lace Paper Doilies
  • Very Vintage Designer Buttons
  • Linen Thread
  • Blossom punch
  • 1 3/4" Circle punch
I just pleated and scrunched up the doily to reduce it's size and add flair to it.  I flattened the scrunched up portion in the center and put snail (tape) over it to stick down the Basic Black Blossom flower.  Everything is just tape and glue dots...no dimensionals!  This was amazing for my regulars to learn since I put dimensionals on everything...lol.

Alphabet Press Card - Core'dinations & Faux Suede

I designed this card for some home parties this month and next month.  I love the Alphabet Press embossing folder which is perfect for the Core'dinations cardstock.  It was close to the top of my wish list for new catalog items.  Emboss first, then sand a little or a lot.
Stamp Sets:
  • Label Love
Colors:
  • Summer Starfruit
  • Island Indigo
  • Early Espresso
  • Very Vanilla
Tools / Extras
  • Candy Dots - Neutrals
  • Artisan Label punch
  • Extra Large Oval punch
  • Alphabet Press embossing folder
  • Stampin' Sanding Block
  • Dimensionals
  • Bone Folder
The Faux Suede technique goes with the Core'dinations cardstock so nicely...the cardstock on both techniques have the same soft feel.  Just use the bone folder to curl the little flag over and over in both directions and from both ends until you can peel the cardstock into two halves exposing the center fibers of the cardstock...this is the Faux Suede technique.

Flower Shop Card - In Color 2013-2015 Collection

I played around with 4 of the 5 new In Colors for this card using the Inlaid Embossing Technique.  I think these colors have a cool, crisp feel and work great together.  Still on my creative list...playing with the new In Color blue, Coastal Cabana.

Stamps:
  • Sassy Salutations (25% off this month)
  • Flower Shop
  • Secret Garden
 Colors:
  • Crisp Cantaloupe
  • Pistachio Pudding
  • Strawberry Slush
  • Baked Brown Sugar
  • Whisper White
Tools / Extras:
  • Pansy punch
  • Elegant Butterfly punch
  • Square Lattice embossing folder
  • Pearl Basic Jewels
  • dimensionals
I stamped the leaves directly on the background.  Then, I stamped the flowers on scrap paper, punched them out, and arranged them over the leaves and overlapping (turn over and trim petals that went off the card).  Then, just run through the Big Shot with the embossing folder.

Scrunchy Ribbon & Acrylic Color Blocking Technique

This is the 3rd project from May and the technique that went in our Technique Journals.  I really demonstrated 2 techniques on this one card...all the details are below.
Stamps:
  • Bordering on Romance
  • Take a Ticket
Colors:
  • Basic Gray
  • Whisper White
  • Rose Red
  • Pink Pirouette
Tools/Extras:
  • brads
  • Ticket Duo Builder punch
  • Two Tone ribbon from the Spring Catalog
  • Acrylic Blocks
  • Stampin' Distress Tool
Here's the information on the Acrylic Color Blocking Technique for the background color.
For the ribbon, you need a ribbon that frays easily.  First fringe the end by pulling on it.  Then, try to grab one or two threads from near the middle by pulling at the fringe until the ones in the middle are longer to grab.  Then, hang onto the selected one(s) and scrunch down the ribbon half way.  Turn the ribbon around and do the other end.  You can't scrunch all the way with one side since the thread is only as long as the cut piece of ribbon to start with.  If you pull the thread all the way out, just grab another one.  Put Sticky Strip on your card and arrange the scrunched ribbon on your tape.  Then, trim ends or just cut strays to even up the fringe.
