Twisty Treats Filled With Salt Water Taffy...Yum!

This Twisty Treats Sale-a-Bration freebie kit is cute on it's own, but I decided to kick it up a notch with the help of the Spiral Flower Die and the Elegant Butterfly punch.  My February Stamp Night ladies enjoyed making this as one of their projects last month...especially since they could sneak a few pieces of taffy before putting the rest in the Twisty Treats bag.
The kit comes with the polka dot cello bags, heart printed twisty ties, 2 styles of printed tags, and the glitter adhesive-backed hearts to make 12 treats.  Here's a closer look at my tag add-ons.
I did the flower in Whisper White, then used the Stampin' Spritzer to bring the flower to life with a few drops of Tangerine Tango re-inker and rubbing alcohol.  I also really love the butterfly glued onto the Mini Metallic Clothespin.  And, so that the tag wouldn't get destroyed opening and closing the twisty tie, I used some Baker's Twine to hold the two tags on.

Colors:
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Bermuda Bay
  • Whisper White
  • Silver
Tools / Extras:
  • Twisty Treats Kit
  • Spiral Flower Die
  • Stampin' Spritzer (w/ re-inker & rubbing alcohol)
  • Elegant Butterfly Punch
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Mini Metallic Clothepins
  • Baker's Twine
  • Hot Glue (flower)
  • 2-Way Glue Pen (butterfly)
These cute little cello bags are great gifts as party favors or just because.  There were extra striped tags in the kit that I've already used on other gifts for my Stamp'n'Share night.

Happy Gift Giving!

Vivid Vases Watercolor Card

At Leadership we got this set free which was great because it was on my wishlist anyway...love that!  I couldn't wait to play with this again, so in January, I designed a Stamp Night project using it and some of the other great new items in the Occasions catalog.  Here's what I came up with:
Stamp Sets:
  • Vivid Vases
  • Hardwood
Colors:
  • Pool Party
  • Melon Mambo
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Old Olive
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Basic Black
  • Gold
Tools / Extras:
  • Gold Baker's Twine
  • Watercolor Paper
  • Gold Foil Sheets
  • Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape
  • Stazon Black ink
  • Scallop Edge Border Punch
  • Banner Punch
  • Basic Jewel Pearl
  • Aqua Painter
  • Glue Dots / Dimensionals
Here's another way to use your washi tape.  Just cover a strip of card stock with it.  I put one end into the Banner punch to punch the "V" shape.  Here's another tip: When using a wood mount stamp as a focal point, cut your card stock the same size as your wood block.  Then if you've mounted your stamp straight and centered on your block, you can just line up the edges of your wood block with your paper edges when stamping to center your image on your paper.  Otherwise, use your Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum - Hop on the Gold Rush!

In case you didn't know...there's a gold rush going on.  Gold is a current trend, and I love our new Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.  The design for this card was inspired by a card presented at Leadership.

Stamp Sets:
  • Daydream Medallions
  • Perfect Pennants (the "hello" banner)
Colors:
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Blushing Bride
  • Gold
  • Whisper White
 Tools / Extras:
  • White Tea Lace Paper Doilies
  • Fancy Foil Designer Vellum - Gold
  • Gold Baker's Twine
  • Gold Foil Sheets
  • Floral Frames Framelits (on sale this week! - link)
  • Bitty Butterfly punch
  • Elegant Butterfly punch
  • Dimensionals / Glue Dots
  • Gold Sequin Trim
When using the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, just hide your adhesive on the under side of the gold dots, stripes, or hearts (these are the 3 patterns this paper comes with - 3 sheets of each!).  For the butterflies, I just cut the sequin trim so I could pull off single sequins.  Also when you cut your hello banner, leave some extra margin on the left to tuck it under the butterfly.
