June Stamp Night Projects - Blossoms, Labels, & Pennants

I’m so excited to have 4 Stamp Nights a month starting this month.  Hopefully, everyone that wants to come to a Stamp Night can find one that fits into their schedule.  Last night was my first Wednesday one.  I made brownies and Yogi Tahitian Vanilla Hazelnut tea which is my favorite!  I have missed this flavor of tea soooo much since the store has been out of it for months.  But, my friend, Laura, found some at another store and bought it for me.  Yay!  She said it was an early birthday gift.  Thanks Laura!

Here’s the first project.  This is a simple card (only 2 pieces of cardstock and a couple of scraps!).  I used the Betsy’s Blooms wheel, Betsy’s Blossoms stamp set, Delightful Dozen stamp set,  ¼” Stitched Grosgrain ribbon in Daffodil Delight, 3/16” Corner  punch, and the XL Oval punch.  The colors are Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, and Whisper White.  Oh, I also used the Daffodil Delight marker to color in some of the flower centers and a sponge dauber to highlight the edge of the oval greeting.  {TIP: Use a dauber for more intense edging and a stampin’ sponge when you want the edge to spread inwards and range in intensity.}

The second project is my favorite one this month.  I used the Layered Labels stamp set with matching Apothecary Accents Framelits, ½” Scallop Dots ribbon, Large Oval punch, and 3/8” Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon.  The colors are Chocolate Chip, Raspberry Ripple, and Very Vanilla.  The ribbon gives it more texture than if you used scalloped cardstock, but you could certainly do that if you don’t own this ribbon.

The third project is the 6x6 scrapbook page or 3x6 card option in Midnight Muse, Marina Mist, and Whisper White.  I always do one of these.  I like to post my scrapbook pages with a photo, but I didn’t find one yet that I want to use on this page.  These use the Make a Cake and Pennant Parade stamp sets as well as the Patio Party designer paper (all of these are from the Patio Party Product Suite).  I also used quite a few punches:  Scallop Edge Border, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Small Heart, and Petite Pennants Builder.  I used this project to demonstrate the Faux Stitching technique using the new larger Pierce Mat with the new Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack.  I love how the shapes have piercing holes inside and outside the shapes.  I also used our Signo white gel pen for the stitches and Whisper White Baker’s Twine for the bows.

I used the Faux Stitching for our monthly Technique Journal too.  Here’s the page we did in our Technique Journals with the instructions (done in My Digital Studio) and the sample using the Creative Elements stamp set, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack , and Midnight Muse marker.  It was totally accidental that my flourishes on my sample kind of line up perfectly with the flourishes on my background.  How cool is that?!

Project Mania & Ribbon Share

The Open House on Sunday was amazing.  I had lots of stampin’ friends in and out all day.  This week, I’ve been getting ready for my 4 June Stamp Nights that start this Friday, Angie’s party this Saturday, and my Masculine Mini Stamp-a-Stack this Sunday.  I’ll post everything when projects are done and photographed.  I spent lunch on the demo website for inspiration and then sketched some designs.  So I’m ready to play with more new stuff and get ink on my fingers tonight to finish up all the projects.  I was so jealous this morning of my daughter sleeping in and staying home (school’s out).  Well, at least I get off work at 4:30, and hopefully she’ll get a summer job soon!

I also started a Ribbon Share.  This is where I buy all the ribbon in each color and divide it out to everyone so they get some of each color instead of having to buy a whole spool.  I know for me, even being a demonstrator, I have lots of half spools that never get finished before they’re retired.  And of course, how fun to have every color to choose from!  This is how it works:  I have 5 spots for each share, you pay 1/5 of the cost for buying all the colors of that ribbon; I purchase all the colors; then, I split them out and give everyone 2 yards of each color (with a few exceptions).  So, if you want 4 yards, you just sign up for 2 spots.  I hope I explained that well…just let me know if you’re confused.

The exceptions are: Baker’s Twine is 5 yards per person and the Demin, Crochet Trim, and Organza are together in one share with yards per person as 2yds/1yd/3yds respectively.   I’ll have the clipboard at all my events this month, but if you want to get a spot for a particular style ribbon (or several of them), let me know and I’ll mark you down.  I won’t purchase until I have several ribbon types full.  I’m intending this to be a local share, but if you’re reading this and don’t mind paying shipping, let me know.

Open House Projects for the New Catalog Debut

I had an Open House today and will be having part 2 tomorrow.  It was great to spend stamping time with my new friend, Betty, at my open house.  We created the two cards I made for the open house weekend and talked about our dogs (we both have pairs that are siblings), Scarborough Faire, Big Bang Theory (the show, not the universe), and of course crafting tips and stamping techniques.  Most of my friends are coming tomorrow…so I made a third card option to make it go more smoothly.

This one uses Betsy's Blossoms set, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Itty Bitty Banners stamp set, Bitty Banners Framelits, and the Floral District designer paper (all of these are new!)

This one uses the new Everything Eleanor stamp set and the new Midnight Muse In-Color.  I used Sahara Sand card stock for the card base, and I really like it with these colors.

Here's the third one that also uses Everything Eleanor (I love this set), Perfectly Penned, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, New Naturals Designer Buttons, and the new Summer Starfruit In-Color.

I also made party favors for all my Open House guests using the new Layered Labels set with coordinating Apothecary Accents Framelits.  Each party favor has a chocolate with a stamped label (It's a Wrap set), a Stampin' Sponge wedge, and a stamp in it.  The colors are all new In-Colors:  Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, and Midnight Muse.
