Paper Pumpkin - Free Kit & Just $10 First 2 Months!

At Convention, Stampin' Up! gave all attendees a free Paper Pumpkin kit to share with a new Paper Pumpkin customer along with a great promotion.  I have extras of my own too, so I will give away 2 free kits...one each to the first 2 new Paper Pumpkin customers that sign up with me as their demonstrator (I might even do three...we'll see) before the end of August.
The promotion is that your first two months are only $10 a month*.  Link to the website is in the deets below or to the right (the pumpkin icon in the margin).
*plus tax, where applicable. Shipping included!

The Deets:
  • For new subscribers only.
  • Promotion applies only to the first two months of a new subscription. After receiving two month's worth, the price for each month's kit will go to the regular price: $19.95.
  • When you sign up on the website to take advantage of this promotion, click Subscribe, fill in the quantity of subscriptions, then click "Add Promo Code" right under quantity and enter the promo code PUMPKINDEAL in the "Promo Code" field, then complete shipping and payment info.
  • You must join by Saturday, August 31, 2013; 11:50 PM (MT).
  • I'll mail your free kit to you around the 16th of September.
I just finished last month's kit before I went to convention, and I have July's to complete.  I'll upload photos soon.  You never know what the projects will be...I haven't been disappointed yet!  I like to bring them to work and do them at lunchtime...sometimes with a coworker friend of mine that gets them too.

Chalk Talk - Shop Around - Faux Tearing Technique

Well, after a break to talk about convention last week, here's the last project for July Stamp Nights.

The vintage style of the Shop Around wheel was the perfect stamp to go with my Faux Tearing Technique.  I love the Pistachio Pudding with Basic Gray & Smoky Slate!
Stamps:
  • Chalk Talk
  • Shop Around jumbo wheel
Colors:
  • Pistachio Pudding
  • Very Vanilla
  • Basic Gray
  • Smoky Slate
Tools / Extras:
  • XL Oval punch
  • Chalk Talk Framelits
  • Candy Dot (Very Vanilla)
  • Candy Dots Brad Bases
  • Paper Piercer
  • Crochet Trim (spritzed with reinker)
  • Ripped copy paper
  • Dimensionals
I dyed the Crochet trim by using the Stampin' Spritzer filled with rubbing alcohol and drops of Pistachio Pudding reinker.

Here is the page I did for the technique book.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013 - Day 3 (part 2)

So much free stuff!  Here's some photos of all the free goodies we got.  The 2013 Convention bag...
Free stamp sets in the bag, all attendee giveaways, Expo Night freebies, award pins, & prize patrol...
I missed the free washi tape in my photos.  We got both styles from the Holiday Catalog.

I enjoyed all the presentations from Shelli, Sara, Shannon, Pam & Bonnie on main stage.  We laughed every day so much.  It really is one of my favorite weeks of the year...it's hard to top spending days with old and new friends while laughing, sharing, & stamping.  We also found out that Leadership 2014 will be in Houston, TX!!!  I love that we'll be able to drive there and maybe some more of my downlines can come to Leadership in January.  It was nice to have Renee join us at convention...we laughed so hard in the hotel room every night...so much fun!
Thanks Shelli for another great time in Salt Lake City!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013 - Day 3 (part 1)

Saturday morning started with another general session.  Sara did presentations using the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit plus several other kits in the Holiday catalog.  I love the Banner Simply Created Kit...the banner pieces are canvas paper so they can be pinned up year after year.  You could also make a birthday banner and keep it at work to hang up whenever there's a birthday.
Renee got to walk the stage for her 5 year anniversary with Stampin' Up!
We figured out yesterday that they have rigged the Prize Patrols so that everyone would eventually win one.  Everyone in my group had won by the end of the day.  I won during a class.  We won based on our wrist band color...mine was Tangerine Tango.
What we didn't know is that they saved the best for last.  Crushed Curry was the only color that hadn't won by the end.  It was the 25th prize patrol and they had only 25 wrist bands with Crushed Curry (hint hint...25th anniversary).  Those 25 lucky people won EVERY STAMP SET in the Holiday Catalog!!!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013 - Day 2 (part 2)

After Make'n'Takes, we enjoyed the rest of the expo.  The product playground was one of the areas I always love to visit.  This is where you can play with new tools and ask questions.  We played with the new rotary cutter accessories that go on the paper trimmer and check out these bows that were all made with the Gift Bow Bigz Die from the Holiday catalog.
Shelli also made this flower bow from the die by cutting the loops and stacking several together.
Awards night was later where they announced next year's incentive trips.  The Getaway will be to Washington DC and the grand vacation will be Hawaii.  Yay!!!  There was a party afterwards with desserts, acrobats, dancers, a live 80's cover band, carnival style games, and green screen photos.  The games earned tickets and 25 people won prizes announced the next day.
Day 3 was a full day too.  I will try to post some more tomorrow afternoon.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013 - Day 2 (part 1)

We had awesome product announcements at general session this morning: Undefined (a kit that allows you to carve your own stamps (available now), Card Thinlits (available August 1st), and a new envelope making tool (available in September).  Shelli tried to show us tons of projects in record time...it was very humorous, and Shannon West presented the Undefined stamps.

Undefined stamps hand carved by Shannon for her presentation:
Card Thinlits presented by Shelli:
The envelope making tool is so easy!  I got to try it out at the Product Playground display later in the day...can't wait to get one.  It has all the sizes of cards with what size cardstock to cut and what score measure to start with printed right on the tool.

I also got to walk across the stage in recognition of winning the Grand Vacation.
After lunch, yes--we ate at Blue Lemon again, we did make'n'takes.  We did two of the projects before looking around at the Expo set up in the Gathering Place.  Good friends, stamping, dark chocolate, and ice tea...life is good!
I'm breaking this up into 2 posts since I have so many photos.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013 - Day 1

We took the Riverton tour this morning.  Wow! so many demonstrators!  We opted out of going through the Legacy Room because of the line, but saw all the other areas.

Look at this awesome card using Swallowtail and Ex Libris that was on one of the demo support desks.
After the tour we tried to eat somewhere else for lunch, but wound up back at the Blue Lemon...we just love that restaurant.  Then, our first general session.  A singer from the Voice sang our theme song for this year.  We got our bags (I'll post a photo tomorrow), and Shelli told stories about the journey to 25 years.  Ronald McDonald showed up to share his thanks for the difference we have made in volunteering and donating to Ronald McDonald house over the years.
Then, we had our opening social party in the Gathering Place.  We had dinner in there, and then participated in breaking a Guinness world record for most cards sent from a single location at the same time (in 3 hours).  There was an official counting the cards.  We waited in an extremely long line to do it, but we DID break the record.
I'm not sure of the final count, but this ticker was changing by the second.

Then, I went to the Recognition Room to stamp achievement cards to post on walls in the hallway marking annual awards for everyone earning one or more awards.  I'm so excited to have earned the incentive trip this year.  It's a western Caribbean cruise on Royal Carribbean's Allure of the Seas.  Right when I was about to pin these to a wall, I ran into my friends, Twila & Suzie, and had to talk for what was probably an hour.  They actually turned out the lights in the Salt Palace, so I pinned my cards and headed back to the hotel.
More fun tomorrow...we've just started.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013 - Sightseeing

Yay!  We're here!  I booked a tour of the Salt Lake for us at 2:30, so we got off the plane, rode the light rail to the hotel, checked in, and ran right over to our favorite restaurant, the Blue Lemon, for some hummus and pita bread.  The tour took us to the salt flats, the Saltair pavilion gift shop, the marina, and a nice lookout point next to the marina.  We also got a nice view of Antelope Island and a mirage of water next to it.

Antelope Island
Laura and me at the marina dipping our feet in the salt lake with little brine shrimp swimming all around our feet.
Lake views.
After the tour, we went back to the Blue Lemon and Renee arrived and joined us for dinner and walking around City Creek Center.  Laura, Renee, & Becky.
Tomorrow we take the tour of the Stampin' Up! home office in Riverton, check in & get our convention bag, and the real festivities begin!

More tomorrow,
