I got married and changed my name in September, so it seems fitting to re-invent my website too with a new look and a new name. I'm so excited about my name change to Green Moon Stamp Studio. It fits me since I'm a moon-child hippy chick. Green is also my favorite color and now also in my name, Greenlee,...how lucky is that???
The new logo which is in progress (possibly viewable as you're reading this, but if not, then very soon) is inspired by my Scottish and Irish roots and my love for the moon and nature. I will start posting and doing videos more often now that my life is settling into a new groove with my amazing husband.

I hope everyone had a great Passover or Easter celebration. We were at a birthday lunch on Easter and I spotted the Easter Bunny and his girlfriend(?) driving through the parking lot in front of me!
I thought about following them a little to snap a photo where I could see his face, but I find this photo rather humerus, don't ya think?

I'm trying to catch up on my posts, so, here's one of the recent cards I made for my lunchtime card class at work and a home party.
It's Cantaloupe Crisp and Smokey Slate. I also used the Gorgeous Grunge and Perfect Pennants stamp sets. The designer paper is from Watercolor Wonder in the Occasions catalog.
I decided I wanted to make the Burlap & Blooms Wreath as soon as I saw it in the Occasions Catalog, but I wasn't sure how I would do the class. I finally thought, well, I'll just have everyone buy the kit from me with no class fee...we'll just make them together and have fun!
It was so much fun that I'll probably do more like this. I ordered the kits ahead of the party and everyone just came with hot glue gun loaded and ready...lol. Anyone could do a get together like this. Just order 3 kits and invite over a couple of friends for instant fun.
Here's my finished wreath except I haven't put a piece of burlap to hang it by or maybe I'll add a burlap bow. It came with an extra piece of burlap ribbon for hanging it by. Some of us also had a good-sized piece of burlap leftover from the spool after wrapping our wreath.
The flowers are easy after you watch Stampin' Up!'s video below of how to make them plus the kit has everything cut, punched, and ready for you to hot glue. The fringe ones that require sticky strip even already have the sticky strip on them! Love that!
We gabbed about everything under the sun, and I just interrupted occasionally to teach them how to do the next type of flower that I learned from the video.

When using the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, just hide your adhesive on the under side of the gold dots, stripes, or hearts (these are the 3 patterns this paper comes with - 3 sheets of each!). For the butterflies, I just cut the sequin trim so I could pull off single sequins. Also when you cut your hello banner, leave some extra margin on the left to tuck it under the butterfly.

I designed this card for some home parties this month and next month. I love the Alphabet Press embossing folder which is perfect for the Core'dinations cardstock. It was close to the top of my wish list for new catalog items. Emboss first, then sand a little or a lot.

The Faux Suede technique goes with the Core'dinations cardstock so nicely...the cardstock on both techniques have the same soft feel. Just use the bone folder to curl the little flag over and over in both directions and from both ends until you can peel the cardstock into two halves exposing the center fibers of the cardstock...this is the Faux Suede technique.
I played around with 4 of the 5 new In Colors for this card using the Inlaid Embossing Technique. I think these colors have a cool, crisp feel and work great together. Still on my creative list...playing with the new In Color blue, Coastal Cabana.

I stamped the leaves directly on the background. Then, I stamped the flowers on scrap paper, punched them out, and arranged them over the leaves and overlapping (turn over and trim petals that went off the card). Then, just run through the Big Shot with the embossing folder.
Here's a Mother's Day card I did for my clubs in April. I love this background stamp. I stamped it three times to get all the layers.
Here's the cheat sheet on the flower. It's 4 scallop circles with cuts to create petals.

Tips: To punch the filter paper, stack a sheet of filter paper with a sheet of plain printer paper and punch them together. It needs the extra stability to punch properly. I used the sponge dauber to draw a border of So Saffron on the edges of the top layer and to give some color to the flower. After you put the brad through the flower and the cut out label, scrunch it with your fingers to give it life.
